Mounting

  • First Surface applications - refers to a print being applied to a flat substrate, with the substrate reinforcing the print from behind the print; Standard uses for this application include; framing, frame-less presentation, and display/signage for commercial spaces.

  • First surface Float Mounting and Over-Hang Mounting - the application of a print to board, where the print is either undersized or over sized relative to the board it is mounted onto.

    Float Mount

The finished result is a print that floats in the center of the board (center adjusted or off center adusted).

    Over-Hang Mount

The finished result is a print that is hanging over the edge of the board it is mounted to. Ideal for deckled edge prints, or any work that will be put into a shadow box frame.

Lamination

  • Glossy Lamination provides a max glossy finish that maximizes your prints color, contrast, and saturation. This laminate pairs well with glossy to luster papers. Excellent for vibrant work that is meant to capture attention.

  • Luster Lamination provides a low glare finish that maximizes your prints legibility. This laminate pairs well with matte papers, and other neutral to luster print types. Excellent for text based work and subtle contrast photo/art.

  • Laminate provides a protective barrier for your prints. Excellent for high traffic areas in commercial or gallery spaces, and any work that is meant to be handled regularly.

Glossy or Luster laminates will change the finish of your prints, consideration to how this will affect the final look is important. Laminate can be used to enhance aspects such as color or legibility of your prints.

Acrylic Mounting

  • Acrylic Facemount - the application of optically clear adhesive onto the (front facing side) of a print, to fix it onto a clear acrylic board. The end result is print appearing behind an acrylic face, with a borderless (frameless) edge. This process is great for fine art presentations, plaques, and other fabrication purposes.

  • Acrylic Float mounting - a variation of the Facemount process, which involves leaving a border around the edge of the print, rather than carrying the print to the edge of the acrylic board it is mounted to. The end result is a print appearing behind a clear acrylic board, with a desired amount of clear acrylic extending beyond the border of the print.

Float Mounted work pairs with a stand off hanging system. 4 bolts which attach to each corner of the acrylic to allow for hanging. These bolts are capped for a discreet finish.

  • Turnaround Time - Standard projects require 3-4 day lead time. Size, quantity, and custom projects can add to project time frame.

  • Care and Handling - All work is kept in flats, in a secure space. Printed surfaces and original art is kept covered, and handled with gloves.

  • Archival Prints - Any mounting process cannot strictly be considered archival. We utilize a high percentage water-based adhesive, to achieve a dependable gallery quality application.

  • Packaging - All finished work is packaged in such a way that is safe for local transportation. Care is taken to protect the edges of mounted board.

  • Considerations - Artwork exceeding a dimension of 36”-40” in the short dimension, is typically too large for standard compact SUV’s and cars to transport.
